Acupuncture was first discussed in the ancient Chinese medical text "Huang Di Nei Jin”. (The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine), originating more than 2000 years ago. This text is the basis for traditional acupuncture to this day.Through the ages individual Masters of Acupuncture developed their own styles of treatment, many different traditions evolved from this. The Tradition practiced in Southwell Acupuncture Clinic is Classical/Traditional Five Element Acupuncture. The aim of Five-Element Acupuncture is not only to isolate the cause of the complaint, but also to provide relief for that particular distress, with specific treatment, that process, for each individual to discover a greater sense of self. Good health is not just the absence of pain or disease. Traditional acupuncture works to maintain the body's equilibrium by focusing on all aspects of wellbeing: physical, mental and emotional. Many people come for acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or conditions. Others choose acupuncture to maintain health or just because they feel generally below par. Acupuncture is considered safe for all ages and may of course be used alongside conventional medicine. Patients new to acupuncture are often surprised by the scope of the consultation and the sophistication of the treatment. Acupuncture can treat many conditions here are some examples though the list is endless. So it always worth calling to talk about how your health is effected as everyone is different. This of course is the beauty of Traditional acupuncture it treats the person as an individual not a disease. | | | | | | | | Some examples of conditions Treated: - | | Muscular tension, aches and pains Sciatica Injury recovery | | Post operative recovery, pain management | | Stress,Anxiety, worry, Panic attacks and Depression General Malaise, Sleep problems, Exhaustion | | Digestive problems:constipation, indigestion, bloating | | Headaches, Migraines rhinitis, allergies, catarrh, sinusitis | | Hormone related problems: PMS, Pregnancy and post natal related problems, heavy bleeding, Menopause, infertility, IVF support | | ME/ChronicFatigue Low immune function Labyrinthitis MS | | Rheumatoid arthritis and bone pains | | | and many more... | | | | | | | | | | | | |
